Day 25 Capalaba

Awake at almost the usual time, 4.50. Went into work with Kirsty, they run a cheesecake/wedding cake shop. Yummy. Then borrowed her car and drove to The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Arrived just past 9, and went straight to cuddle a koala, beat the crowds. Well it wasn't much of a cuddle because Eric didnt really want to hang out with me initially. He was pretty cute, with rough fur and very sharp claws. Also smelt like a koala as Iam sure I smelt like a human to him! Then took a look around the site which housed lots of native Australian animals. See the million photos below. Listened to a talk about owls/possums and parakeets. Then one about koalas. Very interesting. So today was HOT, in the city 34c. What I thought was funny, was later on the news they said the area enjoyed the first great weather of the summer. Mmmm so anything below 30 doesn't count!  Hung out at the shop for a while then Tony popped by with the kids and went back with him. Then hung out with the kids playing swords in the garden. Great fun. While we were having tea Tony went outside with some food and suddenly a mother possum and a her baby appeared. All this wildlife on one day. Awesome! It's been great to slow down again but tomorrow the bike ride I have been looking forward to begins. Although it will be more about getting to the start, will need to take the train again and can't do that until peak hour has finished. So after 9.30. Going to take a couple of hours to get to Nerang station them an approx 10km ride to Surfers. Such fun.
